WebNov 7, 2014 · Advancing the timing fires before TDC. Retarding the timing fires after TDC. Advancing the timing will result in more torque. Retarding the timing will result in more top end. I'm not sure where in degrees our bikes (01 ZX6R) fires. But lets say it's 0 degrees (TDC). If you added a +4 ignition advancer, it would fire 4 degrees before TDC.

No change, idle is set with stock timing even with the Muzzy adjusted to +5°. Then at 9000 rpm, the ECU advances timing 90%. 90% of +5 is +4.5°. At 10500 rpm the ECU advances timing 100%. richard lebronWebSep 3, 2008 · With the bike running change the timing in two squares right around idle back it down to minus 3 dg push insert on your laptop and see if you can hear the bike make a change, if you can hear the bike idle different then its working.
